We start with a CCTV inspection of your main drain to confirm the pipe condition and locate the best position for the valve, usually just inside the foundation wall. We then cut a small access pit in the basement floor, fit the valve with its inspection cover, backfill and finish the concrete. Most installations are completed in a single day and the access cover sits flush so the floor stays usable.

The City of Toronto Basement Flooding Protection Subsidy Program reimburses homeowners up to $3,400 toward backwater valve installation, sump pump installation and severance of the storm sewer or foundation drain connection. The work must be done by a licensed plumber and a permit is required. We provide the invoice, permit and documentation the application needs, and we can talk you through the form.
