When the main line fails, every fixture in the house fails with it. We find the fault on camera, then fix it with the least digging possible.

Main Drains Repair
Your main drain is the single line carrying waste from the whole house out to the city sewer. Branch lines serve one fixture. The main serves all of them, which is why a main drain fault shows up as several drains slowing or backing up at once.
Toronto has a lot of older housing stock on clay and cast iron main drains, and mature trees whose roots find every joint. Root intrusion, collapsed sections, bellied pipe and scale build-up are what we see most.
We diagnose with CCTV first, then repair with the least invasive method the pipe will allow, which is usually trenchless relining rather than excavation.

We never quote a main drain repair blind. The camera goes in before the price comes out.
Mechanical cutting and hydro jetting to clear root mass back to the pipe wall.
A new liner cured inside the old pipe, so the lawn and driveway stay where they are.
Where relining will not do, we pull a new pipe through while fragmenting the old one.
Some failures need excavation. We keep the dig small and restore the site properly.
Relining is warranted 15 to 25 years, excavation repairs 10 years, in writing.
Flood Guard
The tell-tale sign is more than one fixture misbehaving at the same time: the toilet gurgles when the washing machine drains, the basement floor drain backs up when you run a bath, or several drains slow together. A single slow sink is a branch line problem. Several at once is the main. Add a sewage smell in the basement or a soggy patch in the yard and it is time for a camera, not a plunger.

Flood Guard
Roots do not attack a sound pipe. They find an existing crack or a loose joint, then thrive on what is inside. Cutting them out restores flow but does nothing about the opening that let them in, which is why a rooted line that is only ever snaked comes back every year. The lasting fix is to clear the roots, then reline the section so there is no longer a joint for them to find.

Flood Guard
A resin-saturated liner is drawn into the existing pipe and cured in place, forming a new jointless pipe inside the old one. It needs only a small access point, it is finished in a day for most residential runs, and it leaves the driveway, walkway and landscaping untouched. It is not suitable for every pipe: a fully collapsed or badly bellied line needs replacement. The CCTV survey tells us which situation you are in before you commit to anything.

If more than one fixture is affected at the same time, or the basement floor drain backs up when you use an upstairs one, it is the main line.
Usually not. Trenchless relining handles most cases with a single small access point. We only excavate when the pipe is collapsed or badly bellied.
Most residential main drain relining is completed in a single day, including the camera survey before and after.
Because snaking clears the roots but leaves the crack or open joint that let them in. Relining removes the entry point.
Yes. Relining carries a 15 to 25 year warranty, traditional excavation repairs 10 years on materials and workmanship, all in writing.
